Billing notes

There is a minimum fee of one hour for all services.  Beyond the first hour, rates are billed in quarter-hour increments.

Due to the nature of computer service and it's labor billing, many services are not typically performed onsite due to cost considerations.  Some diagnosis operations, virus scans, malware scans, and some hardware scans can take many hours to complete. Rather than bill for the "wait" time Layman's PC may opt to bring your machine in-shop for service.  That "wait" time can be spent servicing machines for other clients, or doing onsite service calls in situations a machine does not need shop servicing.  When a machine is in the shop for service at Layman's PC, only the time spent working at that machine is charged for. Layman's PC averages 2 hours billed per machine.

Layman's PC is ready to provide you with a variety of affordable computer services either in our shop, over a remote connection on the internet, or onsite at your location.  We offer pickup and delivery in most areas at a very reasonable rate.   (FREE when we're already in your area)

Consulting and Planning - $35 per hour - Any consulting or planning provided by Layman's PC, whether at your location or ours is billed at this rate. Consulting and planning include (but are not limited to) services such as designing installation plans of networks and/or networked systems for use in new construction or pre-existing structures, and consultations or meetings for system, network, or web design.
