Distribution List usage in Outlook on an Exchange system

Distribution List addresses such as info@yourdomain.com are actually what is called a distribution list, it is not really a true email account.  Therefore, there is no way to send mail as the info@yourdomain.com.  To use your info@yourdomain.com address, use the outgoing mail options in Outlook when creating the mail.  Set the "Reply To" address to info@yourdomain.com so that on that mail, any recipient that presses the "Reply" button, their email client will send their reply.  This is how recipients know who is sending them the message and their reply is automatically sent to the distribution group address of your choosing.  To make use of a distribution list address, use the following instructions:

These instructions assume your distribution list is created in your email server, and appropriate users are added to that distribution group.  These instructions are also using Outlook 2003, your version may vary slightly, but the concept is the same.  Throughout these instructions, it is assumed use are using info@yourdomain.com as your distribution group address.

Start your new email message as you normally would,  press the 'Options' button shown in the highlight below.

Whatever mail you send, will arrive to the recipient as coming from you, but when they hit reply in their email client, it will use the info@yourdomain.com distribution list address as the address for replies.
